A Heated Argument

A short comedic piece that attempts to answer the question: why is the water hot when one person showers, while the other person is left with cold water? Come along with Blaze (originated by Avery Minotti) and Freezy (originated by Anna Kate Hindman) as they explore their real role in Jane and Nick's lives: keeping them together. This play premiered in the inaugural Samford University Travel Theatre event, which involved outdoor performances in which small audiences moved from place to place on campus and watched original scenes written, directed and performed by students. This allowed students to continue to hone their craft in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. The prompt for student writers was "something greater than myself."

Lindsey and the Boogieman

Originally a monologue featured in Volume 17 of Overnight Theatre (overnighttheatre.com), which follows the prompt of Invisibility and focuses on a bride-to-be in a sticky situation, Lindsey and the Boogieman is a comedic story of a couple preparing for their wedding day - with a hilariously spooky twist. The original monologue was performed by Abigayle DeBusk as Lindsey and Abigail Williams as Cinematographer and Director. Gracen also performed it as a part of Miles College's Arts Festival.

The Chosen Toys

This script was first read as a part of Gracen's curriculum at a day camp for children with language and learning differences. Come along with Peppy the teddy bear as he journeys to his birthplace to get repaired, and meets a few friends along the way with troubles of their own. Designed as a piece to be performed by adults with audience participation by children 5-10.
